While hunting for a few casual, on-the-go, yet still sexy items I came across Shakuhachi.
Shauhachi, an Australian born label that gives me everything I need and more!
Check out some pieces from their current collection & GetPOLISHED.

Now that the Spring 2010 collections have shown its time to revert back in the present.
Days are shorter and the weather is crisp and cool on the East-coat.
The time is ripe to start layering the basics and adding 1 or 2 stand-out pieces.
If your anything like me -- your standout pieces tend to sparkle and have loads of glitz and glam. (Actually that's my entire wardrobe)
When the grey skies replace sunny days you infuse pops of color. Colors many reserve for the warmer months are you everyday staples.
Missoni's A/W 2009 Collection did not disappoint.
The understated glamour brought to the runway was breathtaking.
Peach, Blue, Grey, even Yellow tones were done right and made you yearn for a night in front of the fireplace. While longing to layer yourself for an afternoon brunch with girlfriends.

Check back Friday for Achieving Runway a new feature at GetPOLISHED where we recreate the runway looks.
I can't say it will be "recession friendly" but it will be FABULOUS*
Now here is a doll I'd love to collect.
Lanvin porcelin dolls erected by Alber Albaz & chinese craftsman Franz.

Welcome to the dollhouse!

I just cant get enough of this woman!
I really admire & slightly envy her! This is a woman that is wearing Couture...wearable ART.
She makes it work, she owns her look.
That is what confidence is about! OWNING your look.
*Hell that's what Life's about... OWNING YOU!

I adore & am intrigued by Daphne Guinness (heir of the Guinness liquor dynasty) and her style.
In interviews she comes across as very witty, personable and unaware of her effect on fashion/style.
Though her ensembles look as though they take HOURS to prepare, Daphne insist that it only takes her about 10min to dress because her color palette consists mostly of black & white.
With overstuffed Hermes bags, sky-high heels and a tiny waist that rivals Dita Von Teese & Mr. Pearl's Daphne is a force to be reckoned with.

While Fall is swiftly making its way in and the September fashion issues are filling our heads with yummy fall goods, I can't help but fight against the current and try to stretch out the Summer season. Both Spring & Fall are the BEST opportunities to layer and get the most wear out of your clothing, IMO.
With that being said I present Lucette a play on the word "Shine" this brand is all about embellishment, you know beads, feathers & the like. What I like about this brand is that their are so many options within their collections perfect for transitioning from Summer into Fall! If you're like me you layer so much that you don't even bother putting on a coat until the middle of February.
*Ah how us women forsake good health for fashion. Someone hand me the Theraflu NOW!

*I understand some people have a hard time layering.
The key is start with a basic i.e. leotard, leggings, unitard, plain white/black t-shirt and THEN layer from their.
Always start with a simple foundation.
"I can be your tinkerbell and you can be my peter pan and we can run away together off to never never land"
I told you THIS week GetPOLISHED would be back in effect. More glamour, home decor, gratuitous pictures, giveaways and MUCH MUCH MORE!
Though I am not completed settled in my new home I have been anxious to get back to blogging and sharing with you all.
I don't think I will ever get over www.Etsy.com. The website is simply the BEST for discovering designers, artists and other creatives on a global scale. Its amazing how advanced technology is...type in a word like "FAIRY" and you uncover... Spirocreations
What a sweet way to get into the work week groove!

Spirocreations a husband & wife duo, which spend their time using sumptuous leathers to handmake shoes, belts, bags and more.
Most orders take 2-3 weeks, but its worth the wait when these girls come in the post.

You can been cool in Yellow, Red, Cobalt Blue, its up to you and they have in addition to those mentioned 3 other colors to choose from.
Beat your feet in these beauties...

*I can totally see myself riding around Bed-Stuy in these. (If only I had that bike) tee hee

I LOVE this Vogue spread from May 2007.
So much glamour!
